ATTENTION ALL SINGLE AMERICAN MEN OF MILITARY AGE

Have you all heard about Shoshana Johnson? She’s in the Army and a POW of the Iraqi irregulars. Have you seen her picture? Have you a clue as to what is being done to her? Aren’t you embarrassed to see an American woman doing your job? She doesn’t belong there; YOU do. “Men” like you make me sick.

ATTENTION ALL AMERICAN FEMINISTS AND THE JACKASSES OF THE NEW YORK TIMES EDITORIAL PAGE

You all have heard of Shoshana Johnson. You think it’s great that she’s broken the “glass ceiling” in the Army as a combat trooper and a POW at that. (That quote comes from a Times editorial PRAISING Johnson’s capture as a great example of the advances of feminism. Really.) You aren’t embarrassed about a woman doing a man’s job, especially because most of the women who will be in combat will be poor, whether white, black or latina. You don’t care about them; they are statistics to you. Ms. Johnson is a single mother of a 2 year old girl. What in God’s name is she doing in combat? “People” like you make me sick.

ATTENTION AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION

Congratulations on your argument that a 17 year old male is too delicate a creature to accept a telephone call from a military recruiter without the written permission of his parents. How about your other argument that a 13 year old girl not only doesn’t need the permission of her parents to have an abortion, her parents don’t even need to know about it. “Arguments” like that make me sick.

ATTENTION CONSERVATIVE TALK SHOW HOSTS

After the Oklahoma City bombing, President Clinton blamed talk radio and specifically people like Rush Limbaugh as inciters of hate and violence. (It turned out that Timothy McVeigh had a well-worn copy of Al Gore’s Earth in the balance in his rucksack to the dismay of pretty Peter Jennings et al, so neither he nor his other blow-dried readers ever reported that point.) Now, Clinton, Sen. Daschle and numerous democrats are plugging away at organizing a liberal radio station to counter weight the Rushes of America. Did they ever apologize to the conservative radio guys slammed about Oklahoma City? Never. Hypocrites like that make me sick.

ATTENTION CONGRESSMAN DENNIS KUCINICH, (D-OHIO)

“The time has come for us to end the sanctions against Iraq, because those sanctions punish the people of Iraq for having Saddam Hussein as their leader. These sanctions have been instrumental in causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of children....” Kucinich; The Progressive; November 2002

“Saddam Hussein should bee removed from power ... I think the way that you do it is to continue to use the sanctions which thwart his efforts to grow.” Presidential candidate Kucinich on “Meet the Press” February 23, 2003.

Politicians like that make me sick.

ATTENTION MAUREEN DOWDY

Ms. Dowdy is fond of saying that George bush has no service experience and should n’t be deemed a legitimate war president as he has no service experience. The dowdy columnist forgets that neither FDR nor Wilson served yet they were successful wartime presidents. Too, Carter, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon served and were disasters in Viet Nam. Lincoln served a few weeks in some rinky-dink war against some Indian tribe. Thomas Jefferson had no service experience either. Columnists like Dowdy make me sick.

ATTENTION KYOTO TREATY LOVERS

Sen. Joseph Lieberman said: “By pulling out of the Kyoto global-warming treaty, ... [President} Bush has separated us from most of the rest of the world...”

Wait a minute. The United States Senate, of which Lieberman is and was then a member, voted unanimously to reject the Kyoto Treaty. Who was president at the time? William Clinton, not George Bush. Arguments like Lieberman’s make me sick.

ATTENTION NEWSWEEK’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Saddam has driven everybody to the edge ... [the president] has more approval to go ahead with military force now than at any time since the Gulf War ... The world wants to be rid of Saddam Hussein. E. Clift on “The McLaughlin Group” November 13, 1998. Now, with a Republican in the White House, Clift is one of Hussein’s strongest advocates. Eleanor Clift makes me sick.
