JOHN KERRY - HERO OF VIETNAM

By this time, virtually everyone breathing in these United States is aware that Sen. John Kerry is a “Viet Nam war hero”. He certainly had some bad luck and thereby is a member of the Purple Heart organization; he surely exhibited courage and thereby was awarded a Silver Star. On that record Kerry asserts a unique aphorism: I fought, therefore, I can lead or, perhaps: I fought, therefore I should lead. On the basis of either premise, Kerry would have had to endorse Bob Dole over Bill Clinton which, party hack that he is, he did not do. Having fought in a Vietnamese swamp testifies to a man’s character, of his courage, of his survival instinct. It is not evidence of an ability to lead or to think more clearly about national security or anything else.

GEORGE BUSH - DESERTER

Democrats knickers are now twisted as they repeat Michael Moore’s that the President “deserted” from the National Guard. This, they allege, makes him unfit to lead in war. It is unimportant that the New York Times - no friend of the President - and other media sources have researched the “deserter” charge and found it totally untrue. Democrats can say whatever they want; they can repeat any lie; they can be dead wrong on facts (See below re Al Sharpton) and they are never taken to task by Big Media. I recall the Democrats arguing about Clinton’s draft-dodging antics, saying that his choosing not to expose himself to the draft was a decision of conscience; that it mattered not as to his fitness to be commander-in-Chief. And now?

JOHN KERRY - GIGOLO

Boston’s Botox Brahmin and trophy husband has a knack for picking rich wives. As someone who has never held other than a government job, he doubtless needed the money. John Kerry’s first wife, the Mother of his two children, was an heiress from an old line Boston family. Kerry, after some fol-der-rolling with Hollywood starlet types, dumped wifey one as soon as ketchup kween Teresa (pronounced Te-RAY-sa she insists) Heinz came into his gunsight. TeRAYsa, whose late husband was a U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania and the heir to the Heinz fortune, adopted the junior Senator from Massachusetts as her new project and it’s been love ever since.
Botox famously refinanced “his interest” in the family mansion to pay for some of his New Hampshire campaigning. He “borrowed” some $6 MILLION on “his interest”. Botox’s tax returns, released by his campaign, show his TOTAL income last year to be his Senate salary: $144,000; that’s THOUSAND, not million. Fact: The annual payment on a 30-year, 6% mortgage having a $6 million dollar loan amount is about $435,000. Question: How does a gigolo pay $435,000 a year mortgage on a total income of $144,000. Answer: It’s just one of his 57 varieties.

TERESA KERRY - AFRICAN-AMERICAN

Did you know Senator John Kerry’s wife, Teresa, was an African-American? It’s true. She was born in Mozambique.

CLASS WARFARE

We are about to hear more about the “two nation’s” pitch of John Edwards even after Edwards’ campaign falters and dies. The liberal press loves class warfare; the Democrats have pitched it for years and Killer Kennedy, the ultimate rich fop, trumpets it in his whiskey tenor at every opportunity. But tarry a little. As a nation which encourages immigrants, legal and illegal, when they, who invariably are at the bottom of the economic ladder, are filtered out of the calculations, the inequalities of income and wealth disappear. Why? Because African-Americans are moving into the middle-class. Our traditional underclass is, as a class, under no longer. Blacks, like my Irish ancestors (my Dad worked for the USPO all his life), have used the civil service as the staff to lever themselves out of the “poor” category. Blacks, as a group, are now solidly middle class.

POVERTY, AMERICAN STYLE

According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas:

- 40% of America’s poor own their homes;

- 72% own one or more cars;

- 72% own washing machines;

- 92% own color television sets;

- 50% have air conditioning; and

- 60% have microwave ovens.

ARITHMETIC

The baby boomer generation is twice the size of the generation ahead of it; it is half as large as the generation following it. In 2030, the average age of Americans will be higher than the average age of Floridians in 2004. At that time, there will be twice as many retirees as today and only 18% more workers to pay for their retirement. (There is not a sou in the “trust fund”.) Who is going to make up the differential so that our boomer’s may retire gracefully? You cannot tell the boomers to retire later than 65; they are poised to begin retirement now. You cannot replace the 40 million Americans aborted since Roe v Wade with native-born Americans. There’s no free lunch. Who has been chosen to pay the higher payroll taxes to support the richest American retiree cohort? The children and grand-children of illegal immigrants in America today and the next 10 million who will arrive by 2015.

UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES

We are familiar with the law of unintended consequences; it is corollary to “Stuff happens.” For example, one of every four pregnancies in America is aborted. That is 1,400,000 children annually who are never born; 14,000,000 each decade; 42,000,000 and counting since that fateful decision. It is doubtful anyone dreamed of those numbers when Roe was decided by the Supreme Court. Today the courts struggle with gay “marriage”, polygamy, polyandry and more. People admonish: “Do not be judgmental. They’re not hurting anyone.” Maybe. But then, whoever thought Roe would turn into an annual slaughter? Sometimes it pays to make haste slowly rather than at once overthrow millennia of experience, tradition and success. Try this consequence: every day 3,835 children are not born. That’s 160 children every hour who never see the light of day. Try 3 a minute, one every 20 seconds, on for size; see if it fits. Ever think of abortion “rights” that way? Perhaps reconsideration or more careful consideration is a better way.

THE ALLEGEDLY REV. AL NOT-SO SHARPTON

FACT ONE: In a recent Democratic “debate”, black race-baiter Al Sharpton, was orating that the rich don’t pay their fair share of income taxes. He said: “The top one percent in this country pays very much less than ten percent, very much less than five percent.” Then, he opined the “wealthy” should pay “somewhere around fifteen percent”.

FACT TWO: The IRS says that the richest one percent of taxpayers currently pay about thirty-four percent of all income taxes, more than double what dumb Al said they ought to pay.

FACT THREE: Did you hear much about that? Suppose Dan Quail had said something so factually incorrect or George Bush? Do you think you would have heard of it? You betcha’. But, of course, they are neither democrats nor black both of which media favored groups are allowed to be factually challenged. Small potatos you say?

DDT IS KILLING US

John Stoessel, of ABC’s 20/20 fame, has a new book out in which he debunks myths. One of these is that cold, wet feet cause common colds. (Mom: Are you listening?) Another is that DDT is bad for you. Well, yes, if you eat it by the spoonful but, if you live in Africa, DDT would save your life if you live in the malaria areas. Millions of Africans die each year from malaria because the US refuses to use it to spray mosquito ridden swamps. Nevertheless, the New York Times is now editorializing that America has a moral imperative to spend hundreds of millions to treat malaria rather than a few million to eradicate the cause and thus the disease. Go figure the liberal-enviro mindset. I give up.
