Who Is Jim Sweeney?
 
Jim Sweeney is a practicing lawyer, living in Los Angeles. He was an early member of the computer revolution culminating in his founding an international computer manufacturing company of which he was chairman and president for seven years. Subsequently, he helped found or fund other technology companies both as an investor and a consultant.

His political work began when he supported the well-known California democrat, Jess Unruh, leading to working for Tom Bradley, Alan Cranston and others. Jim is best described as a “blue-dog Democrat”.

He has been a director of several companies and civic organizations, including the Los Angeles Music Center and the Institute for Cancer & Blood Research.

Jim has his B.A. in English literature and a J.D. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, being discharged as a Staff Sergeant and has four grown children.
